On the Right of the Child

As I sit to share this with you, I write not as a statistician, child psychologist, or other noble professionals caring for and serving children. Instead, I write as a listener, an observer, a storyteller and most importantly, someone who cares. Sharing all I have seen and know would take many words and pages, so I shall expand on only one.
Within the Refugee & Asylum Seeker community, we have children born in their native land and arrived here in Hong Kong with their parents; we have children born in a transit country before entering Hong Kong. Last but not least, we have children born here in Hong Kong. In some lands, those children in the final group would automatically obtain an identity of the place of birth, but not so in Hong Kong.
